another year, another book sale

Last year's book pile looked like this:

This year the pile grew so much I could only build it this high...

before I needed to help hold it as I piled on the rest of the books!

I found a nice selection of non-fiction titles as well as classics.

Among the new books are a few duplicate titles picked out to replace older worn out copies, or to be able to share with friends. I occasionally dream about one day opening a private lending library stocked with all our best and favorite books. So I just consider these stacks part of my ongoing Research & Development. :)

  1. Well, these pictures just proves that a love of books comes from the Kaetzel side, and by the numbers, maybe from the Davis side as well. Congratulations! Enjoy!

  3. Lovely books! I also love books and enjoy reading, but I'm on/off in my ability to sanction *time* to read. How do you do it? When do you prioritize it in your days and weeks?

  5. Glory Bea,
I don't know if you'll see this reply but I wanted to say thank you for coming here and to answer your question about my reading habits.
I read all the time, I always have since I was young. The only times in my life that I felt disconnected from reading was in university and when we have a newborn/infant in our home. I have multiple titles being read at the same time to fill all sorts of varied interests and needs. When I go to book sales, I am looking for books for the short term but also for the long term. Books that will be read now and those that will be for the high school and adult years. I like to preview titles before I give them to our children, so I try to read ahead of them. So far I have been able to keep up, but that won't always be the case and hopefully by that time, I won't need to preview as much. Hope that helps answer your question. I'm enjoying browsing your site as well.
