A cautionary tale

There once was a busy, tea-drinking mother of three
who arrived at a distant museum in need of a quick pee.
It was the horrible, sickening sound of the splash
that made her thudding, wedded heart go crash.
Unnoticed, unseen, her poor, muted purse had opened its mouth
and silently, hurriedly, sent its mobile cargo waaay down south.
Oh! But, how could she explain this to the hard-working head of her loves?
Calm and kind he indeed was, now if only she had packed some long rubber gloves.

Epilogue

A new phone has been secured, her innocent purse declared unfit.
No more shall it store this pricey, absorbent, electronic bit.

  1. Oh, dear! I've done that, it's so awful and frustrating. Your poem is funny, though!

  3. That happened at our place recently - not my phone, thankfully! Apparently if you cover the retrieved phone with raw rice it absorbs the water...just don't use the rice later. Doesn't always work especially if the phone was totally dunked.

    1. We only have one phone for our family right now since I'm home so much. My husband did the rice thing with only limited success, the screen wouldn't work, but the phone made powering up sounds. He had been talking about getting a new one, just not under these circumstances. LOL

  6. Nooooo.....
I love that you wrote a poem about it.
    Very cathartic.
Can you write a poem about some of my recent faux pas? I think it would make me feel better....

    1. Good grief, if I wrote about every faux pas, I would need reams of paper, let's just stick to the ones that we can laugh about.
I'm glad you're here to laugh with me.
