lean pigs

"Oh, stinginess may be abused like other virtues: it will not do to keep one's own pigs lean", said Mrs. Cadwallader, who had risen to look out of the window.
~ George Eliot, Middlemarch

Yes, it's been over a year and I'm only in the middle of Middlemarch. I left it for awhile, but picking back up with this chestnut has refreshed my goal of finishing this classic.

  1. Another on my to-read list. What a funny, funny, smart quote! Thanks!

  2. Love the quote. Middlemarch is was a book that when I was done reading it I liked it, but in the middle of the story I couldn't say that. Good luck.

I enjoy reading your comments and try to reply as much as I can. Thanks for reading here.
