What can I say, life got a little busy for us in December. On top of Kate's birthday celebrations, Shane and I had a couple of social evenings one of which was a delicious dinner at the Parliamentary Restaurant in the Center Block of Canada's Parliament Hill. It was a buffet and the tables were laden with delicacies of many dishes and flavors. It was very enjoyable to spend time with a small groups of Christian friends, a few we had not met before. After dinner, we enjoyed a guided tour by our friend and dinner host who works on Parliament Hill. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, although the remains of the shooting incident back in October were evident in marks in the woodwork and marble hallways. Those beautiful wooden and stained glass library doors which open into a gorgeous room still bear the marks of the flying bullets. And outside, freezing rain mixed with wet snow and wind made picture-taking a brief endeavor both coming and going, but I tried.
